The Mouth and Foot Painting Artists has been operational in India since 1980.

The Indian MFPA is a member of the International Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists, which conducts its affairs from the headquarters in Liechtenstein. In India, MFPA has its office in Mumbai.

There are currently 16 disabled artists working in India. The artists work from their homes and submit their artwork periodically to the managing board of the Association for assessment. The artwork thus selected are reproduced on Greeting Cards, Calendars and various other products.

In India, many MFPA artists give talks and demonstrations to schools and other interested groups, offering a better understanding of the work being done by the Association and the outstanding possibilities available to the disabled given the opportunity.

The Association's administrative costs are closely controlled. A small number of able-bodied staff are employed to look after marketing, distribution and those matters with which the disabled artists need expert advice or cannot physically cope themselves.
